Screenings
Screenings & Support
Not sure if your child needs literacy instruction—or something more? I can help.
Some parents come to me because their child is newly struggling with reading. Others have had concerns for a while, but haven’t seen the progress they hoped for. Maybe you’ve tried other support, but it hasn’t helped. Or maybe you just have that familiar parent hunch that something isn’t clicking—and you’re looking for answers.
If you’re not ready to commit to full tutoring sessions yet, I offer literacy screenings to help you better understand where your child is—and what they might need next.
What this includes:
A 1:1 screening session to assess:
Oral Reading Fluency
Word-Level Reading
Spelling
Writing
Handwriting Fluency
Phonological Awareness
A follow-up report AND meeting (call or in-person) outlining screening results/recommendations
Further Support around possible next steps(tutoring, requesting school support, or pursuing formal evaluation)
Note: I do not provide formal diagnoses, but I can help you gain clarity about your child’s current skill level and learning profile.
Is Screening Right for You?
This is a great option if:
You’re unsure whether your child needs literacy support
You suspect dyslexia or another reading challenge
You want more insight before pursuing formal testing
You’d like professional guidance and clarity before taking the next step
You’d like some help identifying where to support your child
